Mike McClelland
Mike served in the RAF and retired in 2011 after serving 22 years. While serving Mike realised his passion for flight, learning to fly gliders to a solo standard and beginning to fly microlights. This passion was then overshadowed by his love of skydiving.
Mike came to Aerobility in 2018 after being diagnosed with a degenerative disc disease which causes narrowing of the spinal column and nerve damage. He started volunteering for the Build a Dream project and began flight training in 2022. Mike then started volunteering on front desk after discovering that the more time he spent at Aerobility the happier he became.
Mike gained a LAPL (light aircraft pilots licence) in 2023 with a TMG (touring motor glider) rating which he is hoping to upgrade to a SEP (single engine piston) rating.
