Az Baldwin
Ann-Marie, or Az as she is known, has held many roles including a paintball instructor and in car insurance sales. This was until she settled on working as a carer at a residential home for people who have visual impairments. In this role she climbed the ladder to the position of acting senior carer. She then left her job to care for her mother who became severely disabled.
At the same time Az discovered that her nieces had been diagnosed with autism and ADHD and therefore took a course to be able to support them. Instead of the course helping Az to support her nieces, it answered many questions she had about herself. A short time later Az was also diagnosed with autism and ADHD. After being diagnosed Az discovered that she wasn’t a failure, she just needed to do things differently.
Az discovered Aerobility in 2022 after being awarded a scholarship. Her first flight was in the Grob 109 ABLE and as soon as she took off with instructor Mike, her mind became calm and quiet. Az had finally found ‘her thing.’
Az is now a keen flyer and also volunteers at Lydd. She is an identical twin, ‘The better half’ she jokes, and has a love of penguins.
