Volunteering at Aerobility

Aerobility, as a ‘volunteer-delivered organisation’, is supported by a dedicated and enthusiastic network of volunteers. We couldn’t share the magic of flight with as many people as we do, without the help of our amazing volunteers.  We love welcoming new volunteers and it’s great to share a diverse range of skills and experience as we work together. We have lots of different ways in which people can volunteer their time; anyone with a passion for flight or disability issues will feel at home. Our volunteers currently help us with flying days, events, exhibitions, administrative tasks, fundraising and much, much more.

If you have any questions about volunteering at Aerobility, please contact us via email at volunteering@aerobility.com.

In late 2025, Aerobility was awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest honour for UK voluntary groups, in recognition of the outstanding contribution of its volunteers in transforming the lives of disabled people through aviation.

By providing adapted flying experiences, specialist training and education, the charity’s work to empower people to build confidence, independence and ambition, inspiring many to achieve their dreams was recognised as nothing short of outstanding.

Volunteers are at the heart of every aspect of Aerobility’s work, from flying instruction and fundraising to advocacy and site maintenance, making the charity’s life-changing impact possible. This award celebrates their dedication and the profound difference volunteers have made and continue to make to individuals, families and communities across the UK.

As a Facilities Volunteer, you'll play an important role in maintaining our welcoming, safe and efficient environment at Blackbushe Airport. Your support behind the scenes helps ensure our offices, hangars and training spaces remain well maintained, organised and ready to support disabled pilots, visitors, volunteers and staff.

Working alongside our friendly team, you'll assist with a variety of facilities tasks, from coordinating maintenance and organising storage to helping manage contractors and ensuring our premises remain safe and compliant. No two days are the same, and your contribution will directly support Aerobility's mission of changing lives through the magic of flight.

If you're organised, practical and enjoy solving problems, this is a rewarding opportunity to use your skills while making a genuine difference to an inclusive aviation charity.

We have a vacancy for a Facilities Volunteer - Join us and help keep Aerobility Flying!

Aerobility volunteers really do change lives because they embody a ‘can do’ attitude. They remove limitations for disabled people, providing the support and instruction needed for real achievement. Beyond delivering activities, they inspire belief, independence and aspiration.
